Wonderland

I recently stumbled upon Katogi Mari's amazing work. Like these Alice in Wonderland scenes, her art is girly, magical, and full of color. I only wish I could read more about her on her website-- but it's all in Japanese!

Shotwell SF

A few weeks ago while in San Francisco, I discovered an awesome store called Shotwell. The store is beautifully decorated with antiques and cool finds, yet feels perfectly modern with its amazing selection of local designers and well known labels such as Surface to Air, Scout and Cheap Monday. They also carry a nicely edited collection of vintage and accessories. One of my favorite finds there was an amazing designer named Jasko Begovic who's clothes are both art and acid trip in one.

All About Rings

Ever since I started making jewelry, I've gotten TONS of requests for rings. I experimented with a few designs and even made a couple to test, but I was never happy with the end result. Recently, I revisited the idea again and I've come up with a couple of pieces for Fall 09 (very excited!). It all started when I found this book: 1000 Rings Inspiring Adornments for the Hand. As the title suggests, I was indeed inspired and totally amazed by the incredible designs within. The styles range from simple and beautiful, to architectural and truly insane. These are just a few of my faves.

Girl In Pink Dress

I've been saving this image on my desktop for quite some time now because something about it intrigues me. I can't remember who it's by, where it came from, or what it's called, but I love looking at it. The colors are beautiful: dusty and soft. Yet the feeling is quite ominous. What happened to the girl? Did she fall running away from someone? Something? Is she screaming for help? What does her face look like? Who or what is in that house? I also love what she's wearing.

Bunnies, Bunnies Everywhere!!

Years ago, I worked at a jewelry company with a group of very creative and eccentric people. One of my bosses was a big fan of rabbits and made it her mission in life to save and care for any bunny in need of a home. Her love for the furry creatures was so deep, that she would bring them to our offices on 7th Avenue to live. Eventually, the bunnies multiplied and before we knew it there were bunnies everywhere!! Our office became a rabbit sanctuary with all the sights and smells to go with it (much to the displeasure of everyone who worked there). Whenever this time of year rolls around and I see Easter Rabbits everywhere I go, I can't help but remember those crazy days.
